Itinerary Options
Our 10-Day, 2-Island Classic Tour features time on both Trinidad and Tobago, with three nights each at the waterfront Hyatt Regency and Pax Guest House on Trinidad, and the delightful Cuffie River Nature Retreat on Tobago. Field trips include many of Trinidad’s top birding hotspots including the fabulous boat trip to see Scarlet Ibis at Caroni National Park. Enjoy specialty bird species and a classic selection of habitats on both islands.
The Ultimate 12-Day, 2-Island Tour showcases the best of Trinidad and Tobago, with more variety and greater coverage of both islands. Experience two additional lodges; Mt. Plaisir at Grand Riviere and the beachside Blue Waters Inn on Tobago. On this trip you have an excellent chance to see the endangered Trinidad Piping-Guan. Come for the ultimate in birding variety and Trini hospitality, along with some extra time to pursue photography, botanizing or simply sitting back and letting the birds come to you.
Our Celebrity Tours allow you to share time with some of the big names in birding or natural history. They relish a chance to share their skills and experience in the vibrant nature and culture that is found in Trinidad and Tobago. These tours may be themed, with a focus on dragonflies, butterflies, animal behavior, art or photography.
Photography Tours
Trinidad is simply a marvelous place to focus on bird photography. We have researched a number of natural gardens and feeders that let you get up close and personal with colorful species. And we invite you to explore Caroni National Park in a new way – the dawn blast off, followed by a scrumptious breakfast on board. Join one of our 8-night tours with resident photographers to hone your skills; they are keen to show their favorite spots. Or, talk to us about independent time where we do the logistics to get you to all the right places.
Tobago Only Tours
While not as species rich as Trinidad, Tobago has spectacular birds in a setting that should be considered remarkable. Photographers, those looking to be immersed in nature and not rush from place to place, and naturalists wanting a more in-depth experience will love this option. So will those who just need an awesome winter break in the company of birds. With four nights each at Cuffie River Nature Retreat and the ocean front Blue Waters Inn you can’t go wrong. As you typically fly through Trinidad, add-ons can be arranged — for instance an extra two nights to see the endemic Trinidad Piping Guan. Our UK travelers enjoy this as a start to a two-week holiday, planning on the second week at leisure.
